DARKER SOUNDS OF A PRESENT FUTURE Vol. 1

1 Compilation, 1 Sound Library, 1 Contest

Project Details

In an effort to further our mission of sharing our artistic intention and elicit conversations around it, we are launching a special project in two installments.
The first one includes these three elements:

  1. A Sample Pack
Errorgrid artists created an exclusive collection of 54 one-shot samples and loops reflecting their individual styles. These files are included with the purchase of the compilation on Bandcamp and not available separately or elsewhere.
    Preview of the sample pack.

  2. A Compilation
Using this purpose-built sample library, Errorgrid artists Blakmoth, Broken Circuits, Exan, Johno Wells, Malarki, Nundale and Sleep Clinic created new compositions that make up the 7 track compilation “Darker Sounds Of A Present Future, Volume 1.”
Listen to the compilation on Bandcamp.

  3. A Contest
We invite the global music making community to use the included sample pack to create an original track for consideration to be included on the second compilation: “Darker Sounds Of A Present Future Vol. 2”, to be released in March 2022.
The sample pack is part of the compilation download on Bandcamp and is required for participation.

Contest details:

Using as many samples in any way you wish, submit your clearly labeled, mixed and unmastered track via Soundcloud link or similar streaming audio service to
machine@errorgridrec.com by January 10, 2022.
Add a note explaining which samples you used and how you used them!

IMPORTANT: Audio files sent by email or download links will NOT be accepted.
Selection will be based on how well the submission fits the project’s theme and the allover Errorgrid esthetic.
But we always strongly encourage for you to stay true to your own style!
The selected track will be announced on January 16, 2022 and included in Volume 2.

DARKER SOUNDS OF A PRESENT FUTURE VOL. 1/ 2
is a collaborative effort of Errorgrid artists to pool the DNA of their sound as a library and use it in the creation of tracks available as 2 compilations. This library is available to supporters who are invited to use it to create tracks of their own and submit it for inclusion in the second volume of the project.
